This cacao paste is made from pure, high-quality cacao beans — nothing added. Lightly roasted to preserve its delicate flavor and stone-ground in small batches, it represents cacao in its most authentic form.
The beans are sourced from the renowned Camino Verde fermentation centre in Durán, near Guayaquil, led by microbiologist Vicente Norero. Carefully selected Neo Nacional (Arriba fine flavour) beans come from smallholder farms in the Guayas and Santa Elena regions.
Using the signature Camino Verde™ method, the beans are expertly fermented for 140 hours and slowly dried to develop depth, balance, and complexity. The result is a smooth, creamy cacao with a rich chocolate base, layered with notes of toffee, almond and nuts, complemented by delicate floral tones and a hint of tropical fruit.
Elegant, well-rounded, and low in acidity — a classic expression of fine Ecuadorian Nacional cacao.
